EWA has an extremely strong engineering background. EWA is a technology-based company and our engineering products and services reflect this. EWA's Information Technology (IT) products and services are all related in some way to information creation, acquisition, analysis and processing, visualization, presentation, and protection and assurance.
IT products and services range from data mining on the Internet to bandwidth multiplication techniques for communications systems. They also include things as simple as database generation and as complex as the analysis of hyperspectral infrared signatures to detect and classify facilities that may be manufacturing weapons of mass destruction.

The ARROW family of cellular intercept systems provides unique monitoring capabilities in lightweight, portable configurations. ARROW systems provide full frequency coverages for both GSM and CDMA environments, providing real-time decryption, monitoring, and recording of cellular communications, both voice and Short Message Service (SMS) transmissions. ARROW records a wide array of technical information related to the status of monitored communications and displays the information in a user-friendly GUI on the system's laptop computer. ARROW's can be employed in fixed site or mobile configurations.
ARROW GSM is a completely passive, real-time cellular exploitation system. Depending on the system's configuration, ARROW will collect 4 or 8 calls of interest simultaneously, as well as network messaging and SMS. The system decrypts the A5.2 encryption protocol and operates in both the 900/1800Mhz and 850/1900Mhz frequency ranges.
ARROW GSM-ED targets the A5.1 encryption protocol. ARROW GSM-ED is a true man-in-the-middle tool utilizing sophisticated cloning technology to bypass the A5.1 encryption. ARROW GSM-ED monitors, records, and stores up to 4 simultaneous calls of interest. The system operates in the 900/1800/1900Mhz frequency ranges and can be delivered in single or dual-band configurations.
ARROW-CDMA includes IS-95, IS-95A, IS-95B, IS-95C and CDMA 2000 1x. ARROW-CDMA operates in real-time in the 850/1900Mhz frequency ranges while monitoring, recording and storing up to 16 calls of interest simultaneously.

Secure Communications - EWA is providing its customers with secure communications via fiber-optic, radio frequency and telephony links. Secure traffic includes video, voice, data, and control communications. Security is being implemented both by hardware and software methods. As an example, EWA has developed a secure communications control device called the Communications Canister. This product integrates a data encryption unit with two diverse data transmission devices. The canister provides all power to each device, eliminating multiple larger power supplies. By use of adaptive matrix switching, the communications canister provides all interconnection changes between the devices thus eliminating re-cabling or patching when desired communications functions are changed. The canister even switches the output of each modem so that cabling does not have to be repositioned when modems are switched.

EWA develops applications of interactive 3-D graphics technology to visualize massive databases, to aid in data validation and data mining. Visualization is an intuitive, natural way to understand information and discover the real meaning behind large amounts of data. It is 'tailorable' to every customer's special needs so that only the most critical information is displayed. Visualization helps to solve the 'processing of information' problem, viz., it converts data into understandable information. Visualization includes adding spatial and mapping capabilities to the customer's information databases and providing easy access tools, thereby adding a better way to make prompt, accurate decisions. EWA is helping our customers discover the meaning of their information and make better decisions through data/information visualization. Through visualization, our customers are able to quickly detect patterns and trends in information and then drill down into that information for detailed spatial analysis and sound decision making.

EWA prepares new course material by updating and enhancing current training courses for operators and management. Some of this effort involves creating new modules commensurate with the new hardware and/or software developed. Other work involves adapting or modifying existing material to mesh with the new product. EWA uses a rigorous peer-review and quality control process in developing the training packages. The training material is divided into function-specific segments that include applicable common and system tasks. EWA addresses skills ranging from those necessary to set-up and tear down the equipment, to activate, check, operate and shutdown in different modes. EWA provides separate training for operator maintenance, a demonstration of the basic equipment safety skills, and a separate and complete instruction package for the Training Team trainers. This training also includes augmenting the customer's team by providing training services, including tools, personnel, supplies and equipment at multiple sites, as well as providing refresher training in hardware and software as required.
