Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study. Master's degree desired. Certifications: Required: MCSE (NT, 2000, 2003) Desired: CCNA or other Cisco Certifications ITIL Service management and delivery processes, including change and configuration management Specific Duties and Responsibilities Performed: Senior Microsoft Engineer/Administrator responsible for oversight of teams of system administrators managing USAID's IT infrastructure. This infrastructure supports over 2,500 USAID users in Washington DC., and over 6,000 users overseas, as well as over 60 applications. Responsible for engineering and daily support of System Services facilities and teams providing all aspects of system administration, including technical support for over 550 Intel-based servers, Compaq SANs, global MS Exchange 2000 email service, Cisco-based enterprise LAN administration, file and print services, Web services, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and related LAN services and security. Selected candidate will: • Provide technical leadership, support and guidance to team members • Implement industry standard service management and delivery processes • Provide for monitoring and improve system performance and security • Maintain operational and service level agreements • Provide performance metrics and related information for operational and analytical reporting • Orchestrate simultaneous execution of multiple complex projects • Establish technology refresh/upgrade strategies for all related systems • Conduct performance management initiatives including career development counseling for supervisor's staff.

Description of Work
Senior Microsoft Engineer/Administrator with 8+ years of experience managing large enterprises. Experience should specifically include system implementation, management, operations and security. Significant experience in Active Directory design and implementation is required. Additional experience/skills/knowledge requirements include: • Thorough knowledge of industry standard configurations and change management processes. • Familiarity with U.S. Government networking standards (NIST) • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems • Strong leadership, project management and documentation skills • Strong verbal and written communications skills, ability to work with others, aptitude for comprehension of technical data, customer focused behavior, conflict resolution/negotiation skills and strong analytical skills. • Good team skills to support and achieve established safety, productivity and quality standards. • Ability to travel overseas, potentially on short notice. • Knowledge of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) IT infrastructure is desired, but not required.
