Computer Network Defense Analysts - GSI-242
Qualifications
Experience in maintaining DoD network security and familiarity with Air Force IDS tools is a must. More senior positions will require a minimum of a BS degree in Computer Sciences/Information Assurance or Engineering. For all positions, a professional background in computer security is required. Computer Defense certifications and/or CISSP certification is a plus. Candidates must have a clear understanding of published USAF Service policies and procedures on Network Security. A background in any of products is a plus: McAfee NIDS and HIDS products, NIKSUN devices, the CISCO FWSM, The ArcSight SIM, and the eEyeRetina Scanner. Some positions will require limited travel throughout the year.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Description of Work
Candidates could be selected for shift-work during this 24x7 operation at the network operations center (NOSC). Personnel will provide for planning, coordinating, analyzing, and reporting of network defense of several levels of network architecture, and be responsible for the security of that architecture. Some personnel will provide support for the coordination and execution of assessments, exercises, and full-spectrum network defense to enhance the security posture of the infrastructure. Candidates may also be required to maintain the hardware and software necessary to fulfill the network defense mission.
